Happy Thanksgiving!

Thank you Heavenly Father,
For the blessings that you give to us each day;
For friends and family we hold dear, for all you send our way.
We ask that you will guide us well, in everything we do,
And pray we never will forget these blessings came from you.

Amen.

Enjoy your day my friends, and remember to give thanks every day!

Mojo Monday 113 & CPS 142

Yep...I'm still here. We're all doing our best to work through this flu thing. My girls and I are calling ourselves the "Cunningham Coughing Trio". Trying to make light of a pretty bad situation! I just thank God it's not the swine flu - from what I hear, that's 10 times worse!

When the Advil kicks in and my fever is down, I've been able to take short walks and watch a few movies with the girls. We enjoyed this Janette Oke series and our favorite Jane Austen flicks.

Also managed to fit in a bit of crafting today after we all returned from the doctor's office (I have FOUR prescriptions!!). Here's my take on the current Mojo Monday. This Graphic 45 paper makes me all giddy inside -- it is sooooooo beautiful!

(Cardstock: Stampin' Up; Patterned Paper: Graphic 45; Santa and Jingle Bells image: Graphic 45; Bling: Prima; Lace: my stash)
and I even had enough energy to tackle the current CPS sketch.

(Cardstock: Stampin' Up; Patterned Paper: K&Co-Brenda Walton's Evergreen Paper Pack; Stickles; All images and frame: Coordinating Evergreen die cuts)

OK...time for more chicken soup...

Down For The Count...

Well my dear friends, the dreaded flu bug has officially landed at my house. My little teen came home with a fever on Thursday and as much as I don't like the fact that she is sick, I've been enjoying having her home and doting on her. Unfortunately after four days of hugs and "get well" kisses, I'm feeling very tired and achy, and am starting to run a temperature myself .

I think I may have to take a break from posting for a few days. I'm a little upset about this because I've been enjoying visiting with you all. The friends I have made through blogland have become like a little family to me ...Well, it's time for some hot ginger tea and chicken soup. And maybe I'll try to actually get a full 8 hours of sleep tonight! Be well my friends - and make sure you take your vitamins!

xoxo,

CPS 141

I LOVE Graphic 45 papers! I used the Domestic Goddess line to make this card for CPS 141. Hmm...I just realized as I type this that I neglected to add a sentiment! Ack! This is the last card I'll make at 2:00 in the morning! LOL!!

Here's the sketch:

and my card:
All items from Urban Anthology Oct. 2009 kit

Not the best picture I know, but we've been hard-pressed for sunny weather here lately. Hope you're all well. Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day. xoxo

Veteran's Day

It is the Soldier,
not the reporter, who has given us freedom of press.

It is the Soldier,
not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier,
not the campus organizer, who gives us freedom to demonstrate.

It is the Soldier
who salutes the flag,
who serves beneath the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag,
who allows the protester to burn the flag.

-Father Dennis Edward O'Brien

Thank you to all who have served to protect the rights we sometimes take for granted.

For A Great Cause...

Do you have art or scrap supplies that you no longer need or use? Why not donate them to charity? Here are a few non-profit organizations that will use your supplies to help others:

Operation Scrapbook is a charity that strives to provide Foster Children and children with cancer their own scrapbooking supplies so that they may record their life stories in a meaningful way.

The Child Abuse Preventing Association (CAPA)- helps children and their families heal from the effects of child abuse. Donated scrapbook products are used during art therapy sessions, and to create albums for children when they leave the center.

Make-A-Wish Foundation grants wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions. A wish is granted every 40 minutes in the United States, and volunteers will use your supplies to create meaningful scrapbooks for each wish recipient, documenting the entire experience.

Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) your donated supplies will be put to good use during arts and crafts time at one of their 90 summer camps in the U.S. These camps offer specialize activities for children with limited mobility or who use wheelchairs because of a neuromuscular disease.

You can find more information here.

Have you noticed all the Marie Antoinette-inspired art that has recently appeared all over the internet? I admit being attracted to the decadent, alluring and tragic tale of this lavish Queen of France since reading this magazinepublished by Stampington, and I’ve been fascinated by the work of the many artists who have portrayed her life in their pieces. The gorgeous dresses, decadent lifestyle and bling, bling bling!!! Everything is so lavish and opulent; music to this girl’s heart. So imagine how thrilled I was when I was accepted as a member of Marie Antoinette Mail Art; a group of artists from all over the world who gather together to celebrate all things Marie. I just love this group! Everyone is so friendly, and talented (I’m a bit intimidated for sure); and they all welcomed me with open arms. I created these ATCs to celebrate Marie, her lavish lifestyle, and the new friends I have made through the group. Images are from Vintage Bella. Thanks for visiting…be blessed:-)

Mojo Monday Week 110

Not much to post today. I've been so busy with the teens, schoolwork (I'm a part-time grad student) and volunteer commitments that I haven't had time to sit and play with all the goodies I've been accumulating. Ok, truth be told - I've also been spending a lot of my "free" time surfing the net when I probably should be digging into my stash, but hey...what's a girl to do when there's so much eye candy to take in? I frequently visit my friend Christine's lovely blog and have been reading about all the challenges and sketches she's having fun with, so of course I had to try one! I talked my BFF Joyce into joining me on a Mojo Monday attempt and this is what I came up with:

I used the entire contents of the Indigo Sunset kit from Citrus Tree Studio. Love that Kaisercraft Marrakech paper! I also started a mini album with the leftovers that I will hopefully have finished in a couple of days...at least that's the plan. Ok, that it for now (told you it wasn't much. LOL)...Hope you all are enjoying your weekend. I'm going to get back to my web surfing and pretend I'm interested in the football game my hubby is watching! Enjoy your Sunday:-)
