Busy...Busy

Hi everyone, I'm still standing! I spent the last few days helping my friend Renee move her scrapbook store to a new location. It's coming along, but man oh man...I don't envy any store owner for all the work that this type of move entails. We're exhausted, but we are happy with a job well done. I finished a few projects that I'll post tomorrow. Until then...here's a few ATCs of mine that were published in Jill Haglund's new book...xoxo

Still here...

Thanks so much for your emails everyone!! You guys are so sweet and funny. I'm still here. I've been experimenting with a few fun things, you know, fun little projects just for pure enjoyment.

I'm working on a ton of these little mini board books ...got the backgrounds done but as of yet I have no clue what theme I'll use. I'll have to ponder that while I'm at the beach today!

I've also tried a few scrapbook layouts, mostly from online classes I've signed up for. This has been a blast, but I really need more practice! When they're all done I'll post them.

This used to be some kind of gift tag. I think it was originally attached to a Starbucks mug I received as a gift. It opens up like a little matchbook (very cute). I covered it with Basic Grey papers (Stella Ruby baby!! -- love these papers) and will place a pic of the four of us in it with a poem or something.

And this used to be a coupon book I received from a local clothes store. Who needs coupons when one can create a mini book, right? I have no clue what this will be but I'm having fun figuring it all out! More Basic Grey paper (Perhaps) on this one.

Sean is going to help me set up a work area in the basement this weekend. As some of you know, I've been in my new house for a year and I'm still working out of boxes. All my stuff is packed up because I have absolutely NO space to use as a studio. I honestly cannot function any longer like this, so I'm taking over the basement. Now you know what I'll be up to this weekend. I can't wait to have everything out in the open. No more digging.  Thanks again for checking up on me. Stay well!! xoxo

PS. Yes, that ATC image is the same one that appears in my banner above. I made this ATC a while ago for my friend Kerrie in Australia and it's still one of my faves. Enjoy your weekend. I may have to take a break tomorrow and head for the beach. It's going to be beautiful here on Long Island!

Resurrection Day

Slowly walking to the tomb,
To see Him one last time,
We carried ointments and perfume
To anoint our Lord sublime.
With trembling steps we struggled on,
Our hearts were breaking so,
And then we saw the empty tomb,
Oh, who would stoop so low?
To rob us of one final glimpse,
And strike yet another blow?
Then He stepped out from the shadow,
With a smile upon His face,
A peaceful calm fell on us there,
In the overflow of grace!
I fell to touch His garment,
And praise His Holy Name!
My precious Savior lives today,

Wednesday Stamper

  I decided to take a "time out" and tackle this week's Wednesday Stamper theme, which is "envelopes". I used products from Stamper's Anonymous (Tim Holtz line) and Fancy Pants (Bella Brush). The background is Autumn Leaves (Rhonna Farrer line) patterned paper. Typepad...Urgh!!!

Must apologize to my peeps...for some time now my "Girlfriends" typelist was missing in action. Thank Goodness someone emailed me and gave me a heads up. I honestly have NO IDEA what happened, but I've added it back.

This is a VERY busy week for me because we're observing and celebrating Holy Week. The girls are on Spring Break and I'm prepping for Easter. Been busy working on a few "behind-the-scenes" projects. What a blast!! I'm also acting as my husband's "assistant while he's working on a huge job for JetBlue Airlines (he's an engineer). Lots happening...I will post again on Monday. Blessings, C.

Lessons To Pass On

Don't you just love this image? The mood in this picture is so calm and serene, in sharp contrast to my life at the moment! My oldest daughter is having a friend over for the weekend and my house looks like "Dorothy after the tornado" (if you know what I mean!) so I have to post and run. I'm also trying to finish up a few projects that were promised and never delivered...so if I owe you an art piece, it's on its way!!  In the midst of all this mayhem, I found the following "50 Life Lessons" post on my friend Cheryl's blog. I loved it and wanted to pass it along...enjoy your weekend..and don't forget to post those blogs so we can visit your favorite artists...xoxo

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

Catching Up...

Well, it's the final stretch of the school year, and needless to say I've been very busy with the girls. My youngest daughter had a "Poetry Tea" at school...very sweet (and very long, but bless them, those children were adorable). My oldest had a huge "Family Weekend and Spirit Week" -- which was basically Spring Break on campus! She's in middle school and the kids had fun, but the parents are exhausted.  I managed to finished a few art-related projects including these ATCs for a swap I hosted at Scrapologie.

I want to ask a favor...I am always on the look out for blogs and sites that lend themselves to a vintage romance theme. If you know of any, please leave a comment here so we all can visit.
